Thanks FR. But I am not sure we are talking about the same thing regarding the f stop indication in the MTF. U see the lens MTFs were given for 28mm, 50mm and 70mm. Let's see the ones at 28mm, which was given for f3.5(effective f4.01) and f8.
I am asking why the f3.5 one has a remark effective 4.01, but the f8 one do not have.
That had nothing to do with the real f stop. MTF graph is measured against a set lens setting and all it does is that. It is not uncommon for lens labeled one f stop which happen to varies quite a bit.
As to why the MTF is setup that way, only the tester know why.
