Will the focus of Contax zoom lenses shift when zooming? Here I mean when you zoom in first, focus and then zoom out....

This happens in other brands even for those expensive ones. It seems that it is more serious in AF lenses than MF lenses and with the same kind of lens, each lens will be slightly different from the other ones (probably relate to the QC).

As I do not have any Contax zoom lenses, so would like to know from your experience. Thank you.

根據N系說明書, 在對焦後再zoom, 最好是再對焦, 以防焦點有變, 但實際有冇走焦則吾知, 因我依足指示做!

Thank you for all your replies. Actually, you can try this without film just as a test. First, zoom in. Than focus and then zoom out. When you press the shutter release to re-foucs, and you find the focus ring is moved, that means the focus is shifted law....

I tried this test with my three Nikon zoom lenses. One lens almost never shift, one sometimes shift and one often shift.....

I've tried 80-200, 28-85 & 28-70 both using the loger focal length to focus and than zoom out both no problem.

But I've tried Nikon 35-105 that will out focus.

You are lucky ar.... only 1 out of 4 lenses will shift.....
