167MT is my second contax. I do not like it very much as I like dials more than button control.
It was born in the time of Minolta 7000 etc. when electronics, AF and button control starts to spread ... A period of innovation when manufacturers are testing what design will be accepted by market. After this model, contax realises quickly that its users are more classical users and like dials more.
When I was waiting for 177, RTS III came and then ST, RX, all go back to dial controls (at least for shutter speed ... )
I don't like the look of 167MT
But I like it's handy and easy to use and small body.
Somtimes dial take time to adjust when you need to shot in NO TIME. 167MT is BEST CONTAX for fast action.
e.g.
Took this in a flash of seconds with TV mode. If using dial, you loss this one for sure.
