i have discovered faint white "marks" on the surfaces of the internal lenses for long....just considering sending it for an overhaul (hopefully it won't cost an arm and a leg(??)). The marks are in the shape of lines of circles radiating the centre spot of the particular lenses surfaces. Just hope to share similar kind of problems here.


THe said effect would be proneness to flare...

in respect of the causes of such white marks, i think it takes a scientist to answer such a difficult question.

起霞似乎係普通野,唔一定係初期既mold

我有支P50/1.4, 放係防潮櫃一樣起霞,仲要係最前個塊起
我白己囉鏡頭紙抹完,放返入防潮櫃,一段時間無用後又起霞,又抹過

囉支鏡係燈度照根本就自找麻煩, 呢樣野我初初影相都會咁做,現在己經戒左

如果係自然光/一般室內光線都睇唔出有問題
要囉到埋燈睇先見到有,支鏡根本就無問題或者只係極輕微既問題
我唔信對支鏡或者成像有幾多影響,睇唔到就算
用強光黎照,將小問題(甚至無問題)放大,自尋煩惱...何苦呢..

暫時可以話係無問題. 但呢個係長遠嘅問題, 我之前都講過呢啲"霞" 間一長,就算無變成"毛" 都會食咗入去COATING 裏面抺唔到. 而且我剛收到廠回覆真係抺唔到要換鏡片添.

I went to the maintenance department of contax and unlike what canon guys said to joe, the two guys who talked to me totally discounted the problem I described earlier. They both said it was normal and would be present in any lenses in whatever circumstances.

When there are conflicting professional advice such as these, here is where independent judgment comes in...

有病就要淺中醫者,問題係根本無病
無病既人係咁驗身都唔會驗到有病,無病食補品仲會谷上腦添

有霞唔等於會變"毛",到你見到有毛,再等毛食入coating,最少都要幾三四年
確定係毛先囉去抹囉,日日係咁照,頭髮都少幾廿條

i have a question.
why the lens store in the shop over many years still not have any fungus? they never put them into dry box, but my p&s cam lens start to grow fungus after 2-3yrs unused at home..

想 follow up，咁D鏡應如何曬太陽?
忘記在那裏見過人講過添....

Put lens under sun with lens surface facing the sunray is not recommended as the direct heating effect of sunray might clot the lubricant oil and stick the aperture ring. Overheating might cause damage to electronic parts. Just keep proper low humidiy level 30-40% inside your lenses box will ensure that no fugus could grow inside the lens for long storage. One point to add, Zeiss previously verified that “all Zeiss lenses are checked for durability in tough environmental conditions. The regular test for high temperatures stores the lenses for several hours at 70°C. The lens has to work without misfunction or damage after cooling down again.”

but i have the habit of putting my C/Y lens under direct sun ray once for 2-3 hours in every year to ensure each of them has a chance to breath and sub bath.
