My friend want to buy a Rollei 35 and he has some questions about it.

1. There are many models of Rollei 35: 35E, 35S, 35TE and etc.
Which one of them is better?

2. Are there any great differences between the Tessar version and the Sonnar version?

3. My friend want to buy a German made one rather than a Singapore made one. Does a German made one be durable as that of a Singaporian made one?

4. He is going to buy one from TST 2nd hand shop, what things should be check carefully? and how?

TOO expensive to buy in TST, easily to buy the one made in Germany and good quality in eBay.
Difficult to buy the battery for the meter! Pls think seriously.

You should go with the 35 SE, made in Singapore with the Sonnar lens. The Sonnar is superior but the Tessar is also good but stopped down. The Rollei 35 cannot focus so you need to stop down anyway.
