Actually they had used that sensor size for quite a while with the -I version of that back ... The size is not that much the matter with Medium Format digital, the real issue is lens ( same even back in film days ). How to get Wide and how to get Tele is the main hurdle. Now that Mamiya and Hasselblad both offer 28mm ( equivalent to having a 21mm on 35mm film if you use the 48X36 back or 22.5mm on 44X33 back ). The one to look for is what Pentax would offer , the Mfr already shown a prototype lens but did not mention the focal length.
Would be interesting to see what all of them would offer in this round of Medium Format Digital go around !!
