truth is, IMHO an excuse more than anything .... OK I do accept limitation with older M lens with digital, I do accept that to made those lens be usable with a high end M digital body there need to be compromise, but the problem with the M8 had nothing to do with that. Its a Design fault.
Whoever engineer that sensor combo know at time of inception the IR blocking deficiency, and know that the sensor would return affected value even by the analog stage. There is no step taken to alleviate that, there is no step taken to sidestep that,and not even a software dealing with that after the A/D ....
The sensor had nothing to do whether its on an M body or not .... having a sensor for photographic need but having it wrongly recording data is a primary fault that cannot be in any way excused or even reasoned. PERIOD. Especially not in this days of digital technological knowhow and the price the M8 are asking ...
