Well, after reading Impress, DPR, and Photozone's review. I tend to say for its price ( rouglhly 5.5K ) this lens is far better than most others. Especially if one need that speed on both digital & film capture.

I do not tend to look at those sample image as a reference, after all we all had different imaging requirement and preference. But Data do not lie and its with such thing that would allow potential to be imaging great pictures and quality pictures.

Many of the other 50/1.4 are pretty dated design and suffer from the limitation of those design. I think this lens open up new market, now that if Sigma can see a lens that expensive. Nikon / Canon / Sony / Pentax can start making lens of like caliber and sell them at a more liberal price bracket ( one had to be aware that for a long time, and even now people regard those 50/1.4 shlould be priced somewhat way down , more like 3K to 3.5K instead ) and that would mean they can build better lens

Its also an indication of how much optical design and technology advance since the latter days of the 90's.

FR, you must be very lucky to get a good copy of CZJ 50mm 1.4 pb mount, because my copy did not give me any surprise, and was sold.

I fully agree with this , I must add though, standard lens are too well developed and mature product, and thus many variation on the theme. That's the beauty of it all. Say some might not be very highly performing optically but just render image very pleasant.

50mm 焦段以手頭上的鏡頭計最滿意的就是 ZF Makro-Planar 50/2, 與其他 Arriflex 鏡也十分匹配!

Well I consider the ZF 50 Macro not a standard lens, but a macro lens, I do however agree its certainly the cream of the corp ..

Yes, 如果選Macro鏡ZF兩支Macro都好鐘意, 同埋Leica AME100mm F2.8及Micro-Nikkor 200m F4都非常精彩, 難分勝負, 還是按焦距選擇吧.
