Considering Leica break up with Phase one, the demise of F&H ( and thus the Hy6 ), the like of Mamiya/Phase One/Leaf merger , and what Jenoptek/Sinar been doing ..... all that

it made me having little confidence in Leica's doing a proper marketable equipment. I am sure the S2 can made most decent imaging platform. But this is medium format. In this market all player are just capable and performing. Back then, even the lowly Bronica produce absolutely beautiful and quality photos. In a word, this format need no really Leica extra. Do not think Leica can bring much extra to this market either.

And at this price. Its more expensive than true workhorse and decent Medium platform, with less lens, smaller sensor and not really more portable .... won't made much sense going for it. On the other hand, its way more expensive than all those FF DSLR and without the extensive system capability. Only advantage is somewhat better image more of the form factor in the hardware ..

To wet the appetite I can already give one clue. I compared the S2 with the Hasselblad H39 and the Nikon D3X and the ranking is: S2, D3x, H39.
