Can anyone advise me, if I want a C/Y mount super wide lens (because of the 1.6X) to go with the 350D, what are the choices ?

I do not like the EF-S 10-22mm of Canon, too pricey but not really that good when I look at the sample pictures.

C.Y mount wide angle lens :

15/3.5 difficult to find
18/4.0 easy to find, lose a bit of light at angles
21/2.8 superb quality but flare at strong light, very difficult to find
25/2.8 easy to find, not as sharp as 21 and 28/2.8
28/2.0 difficult to find, high quality
28/2.8 easy to find, new ones still available

Price : 15/3.5 >> 21/2.8 > 28/2.0 > 18/4 >= 25/2.8 > 28/2.8

mainly depends on the perspective that u like to have

Thanks, but the 18 x 1.6 is still a 29, not wide enough for real landscape shots.

Seems if one wants a digital camera that is light and can shoot really wide angle pictures, R-D1 with the 12 or 15 cv is the only solution.

maybe i should just get a g2 or an xpan and a scanner,

Yes...To me, at least:
1. you can enlarge to very big as the image quality for film is still much better then digital

2. You don't need to face that enlargement ratio problem

3. You can have many choice on many Excellent wide angle lens like Distagon 15f3.5, Distagon 21f2.8, Distagon 35f1.4, Biogon 21f2.8, Biogon 28f2.8, Hologon 15f8.........................

IMHO the problem is already reflected in the wording ( Super-Wide ) Well, they are just not wide enough on a 1.6x DSLR. For real, if needing wide angle and super-wide coverage on a DSLR. ITs better to search for a new Lens specifically for this purpose.
