Hi everyone,
I have a question about my old Zeiss Ikon Contessa in 50’s. which I bought sometime ago.
I found out that my sample has a strange lens designation. While lots of this model listed the lens as “Tessar 1:2,8 f=45mm T Zeiss-Opton Nr. XXXXXXX”, mine is “Tessar 1:2,8 f=45mm F Zeiss-Opton Nr. XXXXXXX”.
At first, I thought the original owner has altered the lens or put another lens on the camera. However, I just been able to capture a copy of Contessa manual from the internet and saw one of the pictures in the manual has exactly the same designation.
Does anyone in this forum know the reason for this. Thanks.
