Although you are not going to develop and print by yourself, you can still play with the filters for B&W. For example, you can use a red or orange filter to darken the sky. May also try to combine it with a polarizer.
The problem of playing filter is all my Contax C/Y lens use 86mm size filter...........if red green yellow 86mm then it will be price of a C/Y lens.
I know yellow add darker tone on blue sky.
Green add extra texture and contrast to green leaves.
Orange filter can darken sky and leaves and increase contrast in B&W.
CPL with red make sky DARK TONE etc................
Worth trying but maybe too expensive for me at the moment.
