The CY 85f1.4 is 6element 5 group & N85/1.4 is 10 element 9 group...now is 8 element 7group. Anyone know if this is same as Minotla 85/1.4 element no??

The Minolta 85/1.4G is 7 element in 6 group, well that's interesting indeed ....

Let me state that for lens of this calibre, all of them ( except the C brand 1.2L ) are indeed so performing that none will disappoint, at leats my experience with all of the 85/1.4 are very favorable. So in way of comparison, I am not too interested.

I am more interested in the 135/1.8 vs the STF .... mighty combo indeed ( PS. I love longer focals )

支鏡望落真係唔多討好, 可能我不嬲都唔鍾意 Sony
淨係見到 Zeiss 個藍色標誌咁樣印係鏡筒上就覺得好傻仔
我無 ZF ZM 鏡唔知新鏡係咪都係咁印法, 但鍾意 Carl Zeiss 多o的
好老實, 如果Zeiss 係認真, 佢點會比支鏡印埋 Sony 隻字樣咁無面
呢批鏡質素未必唔好, 但係唔會有咩期待, 正如 DV 鏡都有 Zeiss 一樣
真係亂黎..

haha, yes........the Zeiss logo could be find on the barrel of certain top-of-the-line lenses such as D40/4 IF for Hass-V; TPP for Hass-FE; TAT350/4 for CONTAX 645 in old days........

Now, marketing ruled.........

Interesting guess.....

我估新o既 sony T*鏡其實係kyocera做, 原因:
1. kyocera本身係有optical design o既capacity. N mount好多鏡都係kyocera design, CZ review 同 approve...
2. kyocera一直有幫人造鏡 (eg, leica枝28-70zoom....)
3. kyocera一直都好似冇賣條production line比人或者張成個optical group賣出去
4. Sony R-1枝鏡D coating真係好似N鏡咁.......

Concur with Vincent, and by and large, made sense. Truth is Zeiss will not use their limited capacity for such mundane and not profitable business as lens for photographic need. Making optics for industrial, medical, military and scientific use are far more in the blood of the German Plant now ...

Again its the same as history repeat itself; Zeiss benn doing similar business arrangement for more than a Century already

x3. we never knows the deal between kyocera and zeiss before. maybe brand name contax and camera plant is 100% owned by kyocera but the production plant for lens in japan is still controlled by zeiss?
