According to the press release from Shriro, the Distagon T* 21mm F2.8 ZF is a modernized version from the former Contax system sets new standards in this focal length class. :wink:

actually i feel that what distinguishes contax C/Y and Z series the most is the glasses. They look quite different to me.

As I said in other post, "IMHO, the ZE lenses look "ugly" than C/Y lenses and ZF. Perhaps it is because they have no aperture rings. The finishing and color the the lens barrels are just not that good looking. Well, I know this is pretty subjective.

I am also afraid that the quality of the build/structure of the lenses are not that good. Perhaps it is because I (or probably others) had bad experience with ZM lens."

撇開個人口味之客觀因素.........以光學性能計小弟敢說 $8000 以下的 C/Y 鏡皆比不上 ZF 等的表現........

另外小弟亦早於年多前逐步出清手頭上的 C/Y 鏡..........現時亦只有 15/3.5, 35/1.4, 85/1.2, 100/4, 70-210/3.5 等數支

一分錢一分貨永遠係黃金定律........

個人愚見:

1. 100% 只拍菲林者, 可繼續安心用 C/Y

2. 100% 只拍數碼者, 一定轉 ZF / ZE / ZK, C/Y 轉 Canon 的用法始終不是王道...........

3. 50% 菲林 + 50% 數碼者, 仍是以 ZF / ZE / ZK 為較佳選擇

當然閣下若沒有財政問題上的考慮因素, 只買不賣就是最好的選擇! :lol:

Very similar to CY D21/2.8! Not sure if they use Anomalous partial Disperson glass for this lens...If so, it should be another legend... :twisted:

From the description in the webpage:

"Thanks to the Carl Zeiss T * anti reflection coating and its outstanding attenuation of stray light, the Distagon T * 2,8 / 21 provides brilliant results under all lighting conditions."

Not sure if the flare issue for the old C/Y Distagon 21/2.8 had been improved.......

The new lens also focus a little bit closer down to 0.22m (C/Y one is 0.25m)

Very agree. I am still at stage 1, will not consider stage 2, hope can get to stage 4. Or as I said b4, I am still dreaming on the re-borth of a Digital C/Y SLR ... but that will unlikely be a FF.
