就 ZA 鏡強勁的 MTF, 小弟上星期六就向 Carl Zeiss AG 詢問有關事宜, 內容如下:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MTF data of ZF/ZK/ZE vs ZA lenses
Dear Sir / Madam,
Hello! I am a user of ZM, ZF, CONTAX and Hasselblad. When I come across the MTF data of Sony ZA lenses, I just found that they are too amazing. For example for the ZA Planar 85/1.4, the MTF value for 10lp/mm and 20lp/mm nearly reach 100% at f/8, for which I had never seen such a high MTF test result to be published by Zeiss before.
Can I know if the ZA lenses are much superior than the ZF lenses based on these MTF test results? Or is that the MTF tests from Sony website for the ZA lenses had been carried out by Sony without the ordinary approach of Carl Zeiss?
Thank you very much!
Yours faithfully,

Dear Mr. Lau,
Thanks for your request.
The MTF data for all Sony lenses (including the Carl Zeiss ZA lenses) are created and published exclusively by our partner SONY. We do not have had influence on the published MTF charts.
So please contact Sony directly about the measuring methods and further details of their MTF data.
Best Regards
Bertram Hoenlinger

Dear Mr. Lau,
the curves which are shown in some Sony brochures have been "processed" with some freedom
by the graphics designers of the brochures. They are scientifically not valid, easily to be seen in
some cases where the figures exceed diffraction limits. So they should not at all be compared to
the data which are published by Carl Zeiss.
With best regards
