brothers, need advice. got an offer. $10K for a 95% new M6 TTL. should i go for it or for a new ZI?

i never own any leica lens, but always impressed on leica M body. got a ZI 25 by accident already. not going to expand this RF series too much as i got G series and I still like SLR more.

Personally...i love "leica" body more.... And i think that leica parts is more easy to find than ZI now....
Hope to see the photos taken from yr ZI 25

Get that M6 first...when ZI lunch, go to have a look & see whether you like it or not...if you like ZI more..sell your M6 as I don't think you will lose any $ at all!

some one told me that the full viewfinder in M6 is almost about 25mm so that I actually do not need a separate viewfinder. is that true? the M6 version offered to me is 0.85x magnification. will there be any problem to my focusing? sorry i am a newbie to non AF Rangefinder camera.

I think this is not possible for 0.85 M6 to cover 25mm......you need additional view..

I'm an eyeglass wearer. To me, 0.86 is useless, unless you use primarily 75mm or 90mm lens. I like 0.58 most, for wide angles and normal lenses, which I think best suits for a rangefinder. 0.72 is just fine. By the way, 0.58 is difficult to find.

thank you. mmm ... this has changed my decision then as i am also a glass wearer. i had missed out this point before.

For M6 TTL (0.85), the bright frame is large enough for used 35mm only...u cannot find the bright frame when using larger than 35mm lens.
If u want to used yr 25mm, 0.72 or 0.58 is much better. U can still see the bright frame (0.72 give u slightly close up than 0.58, the frame of 0.72 is closer to the edge of finder. u can see a little bit more background on 0.58 when u taking photos.)

so even the price seems attractive, i would not be able to use it nicely ... so will just wait for ZI to come.

I think Ikon is particularly good in the AE mode than M7. The compensation ring is in a much much better position. Leica's light meter is central spot and you need to do some plus or minus adjustment in many circumstances. Leica's compensation ring is in such a bad position that it's even much fast to shoot manual than in the AE mode.

Having said that, Leica appears to be more solid and I like it better.

M6TTL is a great camera, I think it's the only M with it's aperture ring & the speed dial moving in the same direction, it is a very smooth operater. Look for a a 0.58 if you want to use 25mm. I have a .58, it offers perfect view for 35mm.

I wonders why the ZM has lack the TTL flash function ???? So as the Konica KM 。。。 Is that a Leica Patent ???
