just back from MS and the ZM were all sold out!!
next batch may still be LE version, maybe not.
i played slightly with the last one (i did not buy it), my comment is it is not too bad, it is just about right at this kind of price.
i quite like the outlook and the finishing - it looks handsome to me (my personal taste maybe bad). it is light weighted but many people here would like it to be heavier. does light weight means not durable? maybe but cannot be sure. it is not too slivery although i like the black version more, the golden RTS version is much more sparkiling.
the internal finishing seems good either.
VF is big but if the contrast and brightness can be like the ZI lens viewfinders, then it would be much much better. i looked into the ZI 25/28mm viewfinder, the world look different!
again if R2A/R3A is over $4K, then for $9-10K range u have ZI, for $20K u have M ... the market segmentation is just perfect. so i think ZI can be a successful product, especially now the marketing is controlled by Zeiss (not cosina) and distributed by Hasslebald. u can see that the pricing strategy is just about right.
Also don't forget that the ZI lens are yet to build up its reputation and I don't think it will let us down. If ZI lens turn out to be very welcomed, then more people will go for the ZI camera for matching.
I had not followed the camera market for about 10 years until 2004 when contax announcing business ceasation, can anyone tell me Rollei RF and Hexar RF die? How much does a Hexar RF cost?
