after reading, i think ewin put had not really pin down leica. it still have high regards on leica especially on the "touch" of its winder. on the other hand, ewin does said a lot of good words about ZI eg. he said ZI has a lower weight than leica which to him, seems to be an advantage more than a disadvantage. if i said this, may leica fans will throw their towels at me. haha. of coz he is ewin put and i am not.

this further confirms my purchase intention of ZI. comparably i still have more interest on ZI than ZF as i already get C/Y.

Actually, I do agree with Erwin's overall comment to new ZI & Leica M. Leica is good for "play" & ZI is good for "use"....that my opinon...

Damn, my Calon Segur heart fall in love with Haut Brion

Put has given +VE & -VE comments over the new Zeiss Ikon camera.

It's far better to just giving a majority of +VE sterotypes on many of his previous test of Leica things, as my impression.

I think Zeiss has already provided the thing (i.e. ZI) you have the right to expect for a rangefinder in between Voigtlander and Leica.

I like the ZM25/2.8 very much since its introduction. In my opinion, all versions of Zeiss 25mm are good, no matters Distagon or Biogon. The only non-Leitz/Leica M lens for me is the ZM25/2.8, at lest within the year 2006.

Yashica fans, why do u like this ZM 25/2.8? How do u compare with the C/Y?

I like the ZM 25/2.8 because of it is less bulk than the Elmarit 24/2.8 ASPH, yet (In my opinion only) it's picture quality exceeds the 24/2.8 ASPH. The other ZM menbers still somewhat lagging very very slightly behind when compares directly with this current generation of Leica-M lens. However, to my suprise that the 50/2 ZM planar distorsion is much greater than the Dr.Mandler designed 50/2 Summicron-M, which was in 1979. The other Zeiss 25mm I have is the HFT 25/2.8 Distagon. It is an excellent lens, but the Yashica ML 24/2.8 performs equally well indeed.

thx Yashica friends. i am not too technical - but from simply from the visual judgement of my eyes - i also like the ZM 25 the most. But I am not aware that it is even than a Leica ASP 24.

Colours of Yashica ML is always too rich to me - somehwat like Sony Digital.
