20 lens? very simple...just simplly rename all the existing Minolta lens & said this is new lens!

Sony never made any SLR Lens, so any lens under its name is new anyway !! - That said, there is no many N-Series Contax Lens that is really worth adopting to Sony's Alpha DSLR. The 100 Makro-Sonnar and the 85/1.4 sure fit, the 17-35 might suffice but its price might be too much for this market!!

I think there is higher chance for Sony DSLR to use Minota lens design than Zeiss lens design. To me, the chance of Sony DSLR having a Contax N-mount is very very small. N-mount is surely dead under Kyocera la.

N mount is certainly a goner, but the lens optical design still stands, so if Sony are willing to pay up for the wanting. ITs not hard to vision the engineers can remount the formulae onto Minolta ( now Sony ) Alpha mount.

That being so, I am not optimistic about this preposition. I doubt Sony will be wanting to do this. After all, the deal already given Sony enough optical design to work on ( originally Minolta's ) and despite what Zeiss advocates might want to say, Minolta's Lens, the performing school of them, perform just as well as Zeiss and some even better although most of their low to mid range zoom is better leave for posterity ...

agree. no point of spending even more to buy zeiss design as it defeats the purpose of buying KM.

i think the cooperation between sony and zeiss will in fact be reduced now with the acquistion of KM.

Considering the ZF is using the same Optical formula as the C/Y lens probably with some re-calculation. And the difficulty in mounting some of the better C/Y lens in an AF mechanism ( picture how the heavy glass in some of the 2.0 & 2.8 long tele lens will have to be moved ); I am kind of skeptical about the range .... and Zeiss simply do not have any fast fix focal in the short focal range section !!

Not really...At least there is one zoom lens formula already in Sony's hand -> Zoom lens that use in R-1
